The use of technology in mathematics classes can promote changes in  the classroom dynamics and in the forms of teaching and learning the contents. To this end, teachers need to clearly understand the possibilities and limits of technology. In this context, this article discusses some limits and possibilities for the use of Information and Communication Technologies - ICT in mathematics classes from the perspective of 16 teachers. This qualitative research used questionnaires and semi-structured interviews for data production. Data analysis revealed that ICT can minimize digital exclusion and awaken students' interest and motivation to learn mathematics; it can also facilitate the understanding of contents, such as viewing geometry, and develop creativity and imagination. From the teachers' comments, we identified different ways of using ICT. As a rule, these practices have not explored the full potential of technology. Additionally, the first experiences with ICT can be seen by students as fun, and thus teachers’ goals may not be achieved. Therefore, teachers are still walking in the comfort zone, but they seem to be in a movement of feeling, testing, experimenting, and exploring ICT in mathematics classes.
