The aim of this paper is to discuss ways of building knowledge of reality as something that is fragmented, chaotic, in dis-order, taking as its starting point the image-metaphors of the Tower of Babel and the kaleidoscope. While establishing dialogues with literature and films, a discussion of the possible emergence of the new, the original, the innovative along with the traditional is presented. Those elements are brought by the revolutionary potential of young people or youth. Contact with the new carries the potential to break with what has been established, bringing the possibility of transformation through the use of imagination, creativity, creation, projection and realization - and young people can be the enablers or the founders of this new order.
Key words: young people, youth, knowledge building.
