Drawing on criticism of educational research methodologies used in studying the space of the school, as well on the experience of authors as researchers, a research strategy was developed aiming at promoting greater dialogue between University and School. From principles of participatory research, specifically Research-Action, a research method was developed: Cooperative Planning. It is the formation of research groups bringing together professionals from University and Basic Education in order to investigate issues of common interest and on the space of the classroom. The Cooperative Planning is as an important tool for studies on didactic situations, teaching methodologies and conceptions of teachers. Such a method is intended to decrease the distances between University and School, making research a process of mutual learning.
