It is intended to contribute to the discussions on the importance and possibilities of interdisciplinarity in primary and secondary education through an experience report on the activities carried out in a school in Campinas-SP, Brazil, between 1998 and 2009. It reveals how interdisciplinary projects were elaborated and the factors that contributed to their successes and failures. A reflection based on authors that contribute to the theme is also presented. In the conclusion, the importance of effective integration between teachers, with spaces for discussion of projects, as well as the school coordination and families’ support for successful interdisciplinary practices is highlighted. The theoretical basis of the reflections came from Frigotto (2008), Thiesen (2008), Nóvoa (2001), Gramsci (1984), Choo (2006) among others.Key words: Interdisciplinarity; History; Sociology.
