The use of the standard evaluations in Colombia conditioned the educational process. Without a critical approach, this situation is assumed in a submissive form, which could generate collateral effects. The following text is a critical analysis based on Paulo Freire’s educational postulates. Understanding the standard evaluation as an educative practice that reveals some kind of human relationship with each other and with the world, inside a conception of “banking” education, encourages the passive act of knowledge transference instead of the active construction of knowledge. This transforms the evaluation in a dehumanizing practice, in an act of violence. The evaluation must be converted in a space where subjects can meet themselves and interact through the dialogue, in a more human view of evaluation.Key words: Evaluation, violence, knowledge, humanization.
