Teaching from/to "happiness" in brazilian universities: reflections with positive education

Abstract

University education requires new attitudes from students and more dedication to the currents of insertion and mediation to the future job market. In this perspective, courses and curricular units are also forged that can searching the socioemotional skills in this training journey. Through, the global and local scenario, positive education has advanced in Brazilian universities in order to add new teaching perspectives to Brazilian university students.In recent years, the offer of curricular units that evoke the term happiness has emerged in Brazilian universities, with a large social and media repercussion in the field of educational institutions. This study aims to investigate this process, its characteristics and theoretical sources. For this purpose, the descriptive-exploratory methodology was used, using a data search tool available on the internet and data content analysis. The results showed the growing influence of positive psychology applied to education, designate by positive education, with an impact on the creation of curricular units in Brazilian universities. The possibilities for positive education are promising, although the effectiveness of results requires scientific rigor in the application and development of its techniques and it should be included, dialogically, to the range of other innovations that propose transformations in education institutions.

Possui graduação em Administração pela UFRRJ. Especialização em Gestão de Saúde pela FIOCRUZ. Mestrado em Gestão de Áreas Protegidas na Amazônia pelo INPA. Foi gestor de políticas públicas no Governo do Estado do Acre e analista ambiental no ICMBio. Atualmente é doutorando em Estudos Contemporâneos na Universidade de Coimbra e professor no Instituto Federal do Acre (IFAC).
