The goal of this paper is to report an episode of a work done in the first half of 2013 as part of the Pró-Matemática/UEL in a Teacher Training Program, extension project of the Department of Mathematics, State University of Londrina (Londrina-PR, Brazil). Aiming to give the opportunity to reflection on mathematical contents that could emerge in solving Mathematics questions of Basic Education, the analysis of written production was adopted as a guiding strategy. At first, participants solved a pre-test consisting of a few questions of Mathematics of Basic Education. At another point, each one was able to carry out an analysis of written production in a resolution of a question so that the information obtained should assist to reflect and to discuss about the mathematical content presented. Through this analysis, the project participants were able to identify strategies and resolution procedures, hypotheses concerning the interpretation of the statement of the question, to try to identify evidences of colleague doubts about the mathematical content, in the case reported here, Average.
