Black children between assimilation and blackness

The article addresses the dilemma black children deal with as they construct and expose their blackness. It highlights the circumstances and challenges faced by their family members, and the contributions of the Black Movement. It ponders over the importance of teachers and schools as allies of the black community, in order to strengthen black children towards school success and to have their blackness respected.
