This article presents results of a research that aimed to adapt and validate a set of components and their respective indicators in order to compose the categories of analysis of organizational atmosphere for students of Postgraduate Programs (PPG) of a Higher Education Institution (IES). The sample was composed of 200 students from four PPGs. To develop this study, a questionnaire consisting of two parts was used: one consisting of seven questions relating to identification data, and the other about the organizational atmosphere that was built on the methodology of Luz (2003) and Rizzatti (2002) and adapted to the reality of PPGs in question. The questionnaire was evaluated regarding its suitability and it was submitted to semantic and content validation. After the survey data, descriptive analysis, factor analysis, varimax rotation with standardization and reliability calculations were performed. Communalities that met the minimum acceptable value of 0.4 were evaluated. Thus, with the analysis and restructuring of the components and indicators, a model for analyzing organizational atmosphere for students of PPGs was validated. The result of this research will serve as a source of information for managers to develop processes that aim to improve the organizational atmosphere, contributing to a higher performance of PPGs.
