The paper reflects on studies and research on Childhood and Ethnic-Racial Relations presented at the Annual Meetings of the National Association of Graduate Studies and Research in Education – ANPEd, specifically by the Working Groups 21 (Education and Ethnic-Racial Relations) and 07 (Education of Children 0-6 years old). The timeframe was the promulgation and implementation of law no. 10,639/03. The papers were accessed virtually. The new legislation amended Articles 26-A and 79-B of the National Education Bases and Guidelines Law (9394/96), by making the Teaching of African and Afro-Brazilian History and Culture compulsory in Basic Education and by establishing November 20th as the National Day of Black Consciousness. The research found that, despite a significant increase of studies both in the field of childhood as in the field of ethnic-racial relations in recent years, they are still rare. After the analysis, the texts found were grouped together into three classes, namely: papers relating the ethnic-racial issue to children's and young people’s literature, the ones that study the ethnic-racial relations in early childhood education, and the ones that address early childhood education in traditional communities, such as quilombolas.
